Webster defines the term Mentor as, “a trusted counselor or guide.” (1). In my life mentors have empowered me to gain access to new things and meet challenges head on with confidence.
The bible says in Proverbs 27:17, “As iron sharpens iron, a friend sharpens a friend.” You see the bible talks about it all, but my point is that we all need people in our lives that provide us with support to fuel future dreams, goals, and ambitions. Many people feel they do not need help from anyone for anything, because of a lack of trust or past betrayals. However, you can trust again; allow the person you choose as your mentor to be proven, and take time to know them before you delve in, or let them know too much. It is critical that you only share your dreams with people that have your interest at heart and know God as their savior.
My challenge to you this week my friend is to love a lot, take the chains off your heart, and serve by giving some time to your local charity!
Be safe. Dede
