Today, I am writing about an issue I’ve thought about for
nearly a week. My mind has wandered to the past, and I’ve been evaluating different
vocations I’ve held. The past is one
pivotal word here, because sometimes you may find you’re somewhere that you
did not belong in the first place and that means you were not placed there by
God. The Lord gives us certain abilities and talents; however we do not
consider them when looking for employment.
Ultimately, you can be dressed for one role, and then you’re
out of place in another. This actually happened to me so watch this, my
co-worker said, “…when you speak, with your voice sounding so convincing and
full of passion, I feel like I need to pass a collection plate.” I quickly told her yes that’s right I sound
like I’m preaching and please don’t laugh, because I could evolve into that
role some day. Furthermore, Matthew 7:6 states "Don't
waste what is holy on people who are unholy. Don't throw your pearls to pigs!
They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you.” Moreover,
I later realized I was planted on rocky soil, somewhere that my gifts could
have never grown or flourished. Matthew explains it like this in verse 13:4, “And when he sowed, some seeds
fell by the wayside; and the fowls came and devoured them up.” Don’t let your poor choices in life eat away
your gifts.
Additionally,
positioning and purpose is key to your success in life, think of Esther, 12 “Now
when every maid’s turn had come to go in to King Ahasuerus, after she had been
twelve months according to the manner of the women (for so were the days of
their purification accomplished, to wit, six months with oil of myrrh, and six
months with sweet odors and with other things for the purifying of the women), 13 then
thus came every maiden unto the king. Whatsoever she desired was given her to
go with her out of the house of the women unto he king’s house.” Esther
2:12-13
However, Esther did not lavish herself with large amounts of
jewelry, as the other women did, in preparing to meet to King. Her choice was
simple clothing and she kept on one piece of jewelry that really revealed who she was. Esther knew that she was carrying something important in her bosom, and
that was a great destiny! She was planted in this situation to satisfy God’s
plan.
My desire is to be placed firmly in his will, during this last
portion of my life, and dressed for success while doing Kingdom business.
Love Dee
