Lately,
in the national and world press, there has been a lot of buzz about veiled
racism, displayed in actions and words of people. I spoke to my sister today
and we talked about positive verbal responses. She said, " if you have nothing
good to say, it’s best to say nothing at all!" My mother always told me, “Think
twice and speak once.” Job 33:14 explains it this way, “For God speaketh once, and yea twice, yet man
perceived it not.” Knowing when to
express an opinion prevents war, and what we say or not say matters. Less is more often times.
Today, cultural
differences are not celebrated, or for that matter even tolerated, this isn’t
right at all in my view. It's not the Christian way. However,
we have created such a divide in how we treat and communicate with people of
different cultures, based on our preconceived notions or stereotypical beliefs. Our
differences make us unique, and we should recognize that it is God’s gift to
the world.
