Legacy Building:
Today I bring you a message that came to me earlier today, through a gift from the Holy Spirit. I had a whole different theme in mind, and will relay it next week; however this is important to the kingdom. As a parent I think about the impression I have on my children, even now that they are grown and out of the home, which leads me to discuss your legacy. Parents when you depart you may not have a lot of monetary wealth to pass on to your children, but the most important part is your testimony. Moreover, the true legacy will be your influence & how it impacted others, and most importantly is how you served the Lord while you were here on this earth! The true treasure will be, how you went through that storm with grace, without going back to your old ways, you know. Next, they will remember how you relied on the Lord and stood firm in the word through it all, being a living epistle in everything!
I have a sister who lost an in-law last week. She told me that her mother-in-law's life was rich, because of her service with the elderly and civic organizations which served the poor. She continued to say that the people her mother-in-law impacted, will forever remember her gentile way of giving even when she was struggling herself. See you do not have to have money, just the fortitude to live for Jesus, and your good name will last and eternity. The Bible says, “Choose a good reputation over riches, for being held in high esteem is better than having silver and gold.” Proverbs 22:1
The impact you make on your community is a heavenly treasure that will not wither away or tarnish with the ages. Love people, help those that cannot help themselves, and make a difference in those important to your world!
Much… Love Dede
