You know last week I
went through a Teacher observation at school. As some of my readers know I am an
Educator working with 5th graders; a job which I enjoy very much.
However, the one time when I turn into a wall flower is during professional
observation with my administrator, and this was my first. Now, this is when the Teacher is supposed
to shine and show her best techniques, but I despise being a show off!
Example, it is a
Teacher at my job that thrives off of someone listening to her, and constantly
complaints about how others are doing things! What I just found out,
RECOGNITION is her thing. She is one of those personalities that know a better
way, and it just so happens she puts others down in the process, and tells me all about it! Yes, I have informed her that gossip is not the way we operate here!
So, the lesson I learned from her very verbose and unprofessional behavior is that it is okay to let people know that you are a star performer, however timing and tack is everything.

There is a story I
want to share with you in the bible about when Jesus was at a wedding banquet,
and he thought to himself it is not the right time for people to see his
miracle working powers. Mary, his mother, urged him to do so!
Watch this, Jesus
Changes Water Into Wine, “On the
third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was
there, 2 and
Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone,
Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” 4 “Woman, [a] why do you involve me?” Jesus
replied. “My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he
tells you.” 6 Nearby
stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each
holding from twenty to thirty gallons.[b]
7 Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars
with water”; so they filled them to the brim.
8 Then he told them, “Now draw some out and
take it to the master of the banquet.”
They did
so, 9 and
the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He
did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the
water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone
brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests
have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”
11 What
Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which
he revealed his glory; and his disciples believed in him.” John 2:1-11
So, the moral of my story is that sometimes others have to force you out of your shell, and the beauty is, everyone is the beneficiary of your gift.
This week
I say do not hide God’s words, share them with everyone you meet; it's for the good
of the Kingdom of GOD!
Let you
light shine!
